Colclough Gardens & Tintern Abbey Grounds
frasercedar Ltd brings historic walled gardens and scenic orchard paths to life for seniors in Wexford. We're dedicated to creating accessible, meaningful outdoor experiences that celebrate nature and heritage.
Growing with Our Community
We've been stewards of these gardens since 2019. It's been a journey of restoration, accessibility improvements, and deepening connections with local seniors who visit regularly.
frasercedar Ltd took over management of the historic Colclough Gardens walled garden site. We started with basic maintenance and restoration work.
We've installed wider pathways, added handrails, and improved drainage throughout the walled garden. Accessibility became our core focus for senior visitors.
Added new orchard paths connecting to Tintern Abbey grounds. Now seniors can explore 6 kilometers of carefully maintained, accessible walking routes with historical signage.
Our Core Commitments
We're not just maintaining gardens — we're creating spaces where seniors can reconnect with nature, history, and each other. These values shape everything we do.
Accessibility First
Every path, bench, and feature is designed with seniors in mind. We don't believe beautiful gardens should exclude anyone based on mobility limitations.
Heritage Preservation
The history matters. We've restored original plantings and added interpretive signs so visitors understand the stories behind these gardens and grounds.
Community Connection
We host regular walking groups, seasonal events, and guided tours. It's about building friendships and creating reasons to visit regularly.
Wellness Support
We know outdoor activity matters for physical and mental health. Our paths are maintained to encourage gentle movement and peaceful reflection.
A Place Designed for Exploration
The Colclough walled garden covers 2 hectares with gentle slopes, shaded seating areas, and seasonal plantings that change throughout the year. We've connected it to the Tintern Abbey grounds, where you'll find additional orchard paths and historical markers explaining the abbey's significance. Benches are positioned every 50-100 meters — no need to push yourself too far. Drinking water, restrooms, and accessible parking are available at both locations.
Our Four Principles in Action
Every decision we make follows these principles. From maintenance schedules to event planning, they guide how frasercedar Five Ltd manages these spaces.
We ask visitors what they need. What paths feel difficult? Where'd you like to sit? What events would bring you back?
Weekly inspections keep pathways clear and safe. We trim branches, fill holes, and replace benches. Consistency matters for seniors planning visits.
Spring bloom walks. Autumn heritage tours. Summer picnics. We create reasons to visit throughout the year and build community.
We don't stay static. Each year brings upgrades — better lighting, additional seating, new interpretive signs, pathway improvements based on feedback.
